Dr Philip Friel

Dr Philip Friel

(Practice Limited to Dental Implantology)
Philip’s professional career has resulted from a long-held passion for the study of dentistry and especially cosmetic enhancement work. Having graduated from Glasgow University with degrees in anatomy (1998) and dental surgery (2000), he attained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2004. In 2009 he was awarded entry to Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow without examination. Philip has a particular interest in dental implantology, including bone grafting, immediate implant placement and loading together with soft tissue surgery and has completed years of focused implant training and ongoing personal development in the area to ensure he can offer the best possible standard of patient treatment and care.
His strong commitment to continued education means he travels extensively to train with and learn from globally recognised pioneers and experts of advanced cosmetic and implant techniques. Philip has been actively involved with the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) UK since around 2005 and is the immediate Past President of the Association.

Philip is a member of a number of key professional organisations.

Dylan Coutts


Dylan graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2013, after which he moved to Inverness to complete two years of post-graduate training in NHS practice and Hospital setting. He enjoys all aspects of clinical dentistry and creating a comfortable, relaxed environment for his patients.
In his spare time, Dylan enjoys spending time with family and friends. He enjoys the outdoors and is a keen hillwalker and cyclist.

Iain Alexander


Iain graduated as a dentist from the University of Dundee in 2014. He joined the Hazel House team shortly afterwards and has been treating NHS and private patients since then.
Iain took up a year-long placement between Raigmore Hospital and NHS Highland Public Dental Service, carrying out further training in surgical dentistry and management of anxious patients.
Outside of the clinic, Iain enjoys travelling, spending time with family and looking after his dog.

Pamela Douglas

Dental Therapist

Pamela is a dental therapist who has been working to her full remit, combining NHS and private treatments since obtaining her BSc Degree in Oral Health Science, with distinction.
She ensures that her patients are treated holistically and effectively, using a variety of materials and methods to achieve optimum results for each patient. She thrives from helping patients to improve their oral health, appearance and confidence.

In her spare time, Pamela enjoys an active lifestyle by doing activities like horse riding, swimming and going to the gym. She also likes spending quality time with her friends and family.

Sara Keene

Dental Therapist

Sara started working in dentistry in 2009, initially as a dental nurse. She decided to return to study Oral Health Sciences at the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2014, graduating in 2017, with distinction. Sara completed her hygiene and therapy vocational training year in 2018. Sara has worked in a mixture of private and NHS dental practices since graduating.

Therasia Brotherstone

Dental Hygienist

Therasia has worked as a dental hygienist for over 15 years in private and NHS dental care, both in the UK and New Zealand. After attaining her degree in psychology, she qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist several years ago. She has a special interest in working with anxious patients and creating a calm and relaxed environment for all patients.

Becky Coulter

General Dentistry

Becky, originally from Northern Ireland, has just relocated to the Highlands after returning from New Zealand. She has spent the last few years working in practice in Auckland, allowing her to gain valuable experience within private dentistry. During this time she undertook post-graduate training at the University of Melbourne, progressing upon her skills in the placement composite fillings and ceramic restorations. Becky has a passion for saving teeth as she understands the value of maintaining her patient’s dentition. Becky loves the variety that a day in general dentistry can bring, and enjoys getting to know patients.

Away from work, Becky enjoys exploring the outdoors and is looking forward to exploring her new home here in Inverness, especially the beaches.
